Governor Corzine Meets With Jewish Leaders
The Governor of the State of New Jersey made a special trip to attend the ground breaking ceremony of a new transit facility in the heart of New Brunswick.  The Gateway building, a towering mix-use transit village will house nearly 200 condominiums, a 657-space parking structure, office space and retail stores, including a new three-story Barnes & Noble College Bookseller.

The Governor joined with other dignitaries and community leaders including Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick, State Transportation Commissioner Stephen Dilts , Mayor James Cahill of the City of New Brunswick and Jerold Zaro, Governor’s Office of Economic Growth.

Following the ceremony, the Governor met privately with a delegation of Jewish leaders headed by Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, Director of Chabad House Lubavitch at Rutgers University and Director of Chabad House-Lubavitch activities in central and south New Jersey.  The Governor spent several private moments discussing issues that effect the lives of the members of the Jewish community throughout the State of New Jersey. The Governor and his New Jersey Commissioner of Transportation, commended the Chabad Rabbis for their ongoing efforts as chaplains serving the New Jersey State Police, the New Jersey Transit Police, the New Jersey State Department of Corrections and numerous State and County institutions.
